Welcome!
Do you like the History Channel? I love it, and even better, I will be on it this November as a guest on Stan Lee’s Superhumans. Stan is the creator of Spider-Man, X-Men and The Fantastic Four, among others. In his new show, he travels around the world finding “real-life superhumans.” It was an honor to be chosen to appear on this show. We just filmed my segment last weekend, and I had tons of fun. We went to a hardware store and put items in a shopping cart (about 50 items altogether) and then went to the check-out counter. As the cashier scanned the items, I called off the prices, matching my memory against the store computer. I can’t give the results of the show, but I can tell you it was high-drama and you won’t want to miss it!
They even did an MRI of my brain while I memorized to discover how my brain worked. It was interesting! I encourage you to watch all the episodes of Superhumans. You are going to see my friend Scott Flansberg, the “Human Calculator,” as he goes up against college students with calculators and beats them to the answers. You’ll also see a samurai who can slice a bullet in midair with his sword and some other real-life superhumans!
After we filmed the show, I must confess that I was feeling pretty good about myself—after all, I am a superhuman! My level of confidence was incredibly high. I reminded myself that nothing about me had changed in the last 24 hours, and to keep this state of confidence all the time. Then it hit me: When a student listens to my CDs, and I get them to a level they didn’t think I could get them—superhuman or not—I am giving them confidence! When you get my CDs to improve your business, I am really helping you find confidence when you are tapping into your hidden superhuman powers that we all have to some extent.
Do you want yourself or your student to feel like a superhero with a cape? What would that confidence be worth to you?
I apologize. It is time for me to run. My Spider-Man senses are telling me it is time to head to the Bat Cave and fight the forces of evil. For your future, I hope you choose to tap into your superhuman powers!

1. What Am I Doing Wrong? by Ron White
A few years ago, I called a special meeting. I went to my staff, and I told them that the next day at 1:00 we were going to have a special meeting. The topic of the meeting was going to be all the areas that I, as their boss, could improve upon. One of my employees stood up and said, “OK, right now?”
I replied, “No, we will do this tomorrow at 1:00.”
She said very matter of factly, “Oh. I am ready now.”
I smiled and told her that I wanted her to at least pretend that it would take her 24 hours to think of how I could improve!
The next day at 1:00, I found out that this employee had gone home and spent an hour composing a list. I think it was the first time she ever put in any effort after 5 p.m.! She had 23 areas that I needed to improve upon. The others at the meeting had suggestions as well, but not to that extent.
Before the meeting, I informed everyone that their job was secure, whatever their suggestions were. I wanted them to be brutally honest so that I could get better and the company could improve. They were indeed honest, and, because they trusted me, they did not fear for their job with their statements. Of the suggestions, 75 percent were good and accurate. Another 25 percent were totally off-base and wrong. With that said, not once in the meeting did I defend myself. With every suggestion—right or wrong—I thanked them and wrote it down in my notebook. Never once did I defend or explain myself.
It was a very productive meeting for everyone involved. My employees felt valued because I came to them for advice, and the company improved because we changed some procedures. It is hard to accept constructive criticism. However, if you desire to be successful, it is a quality you must embody.
Ask for constructive criticism from those around you. They will feel valued that you asked and, most likely, you will become a better friend, manager or spouse because of it. Don’t defend yourself—just get better.
2. Quotes of The Week
Productivity
“The simple act of paying positive attention to people has a great deal to do with productivity.” —Tom Peters
“Companies think they ‘save money’ by cutting back on employees who serve (help) customers. Big mistake. The only people happy about that are companies who have plenty of people (and make plenty of money), like Home Depot.” —Jeffrey Gitomer
“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning and focused effort.” —Paul J. Meyer
“One should guard against preaching to young people success in the customary form as the main aim in life. The most important motive for work in school and in life is pleasure in work, pleasure in its result, and the knowledge of the value of the result to the community.” —Albert Einstein
“You perform at your best when you are working continually on high-priority goals and objectives.” —Brian Tracy

3. Steps to Doubling Your Income and Doubling Your Time Off
by Brian Tracy
The key to doubling your income and doubling your time off is simple.
Identify Your Key Tasks
First, identify those few tasks that contribute the greatest value to your work. Think your work through carefully in advance. Discuss it with your boss and your co-workers. Identify your key tasks with absolute clarity so that you know, without the shadow of a doubt, what it is you can do that makes the greatest contribution.
Stop Doing Low-Value Tasks
Identify all those routine tasks and activities that consume so much time but which contribute little or nothing to your long-term goals at work. Begin delegating those tasks to others, one at a time. Eliminate them altogether wherever possible. Outsource anything that can be done by another person or company. Reduce the amount of time that you spend in low-value, time-consuming activities. Be adamant about discontinuing tasks and activities that are of little importance.
Take Time Off
Decide today to take at least one full day each week off work, during which you spend time exclusively with your family and on your personal pursuits. During this time off, absolutely refuse to do anything associated with work. You do not read, make telephone calls, catch up on your correspondence, work on your computer or anything else. Let your brain completely recharge and rejuvenate by turning your attention to something totally separate and apart from the work you do during the week.
Once you are comfortable taking one day off each week, expand your time off to two days, a full weekend, every week. Begin to schedule a three-day vacation away with your spouse every three months, and eventually, every two months. Begin to schedule two to four weeks of vacation with your family every year. Reorganize your life so that time off and time with your family becomes a major priority.
The more you get your time and your life under control, the more you will get done and the more enjoyable your work will be. The more you get done, the more free time you will have. The more free time you have, the better rested you will be. The better rested you are, the more alert and productive you will be when you are working, thereby getting even more done.
Think Through Your Activities
Start today to pay closer attention to the things you do. Be more conscious and aware of yourself and your actions. Think about your tasks carefully before you begin. Identify your most important tasks and concentrate on them single-mindedly. The very act of continually thinking through your activities before you begin will develop within you new habits of thought and action that will lead to ever greater levels of productivity and performance. You will be amazed at the improvements that take place in every part of your life, and they will take place far faster than you can imagine.
